For every family, every day.

Our son was
diagnosed.
No one explained what came next.

That's why we're building ThyroKid: the app we wish we'd had the day we left the hospital. Daily dosing, nutrition, tracking, and education, all in one place.

Our story

It all started with a call from the hospital.

A few days after our son was born, the heel-prick test detected congenital hypothyroidism. At the appointment, they explained the essentials: a few drops every morning, on an empty stomach, and regular blood tests. Then we went home. On our own.

The questions came that same night: what if he throws up the dose? Can he have milk afterward? How do we explain this to his grandparents?

We looked for a tool to help us through it and couldn't find one. So we decided to build it ourselves: first for our own family, and now for every family that receives this diagnosis each year.

ThyroKid is the app we wish we'd had that first day. Built from the real experience of raising a son with congenital hypothyroidism, and reviewed with clinical rigor.

Daily dose Available

No dose left unlogged.

The morning dose is the heart of the treatment, and of the app. A daily reminder at the time you choose, plus adherence tracking with a full history ready to bring to the appointment.

  • Configurable daily reminder
  • One-tap logging with weekly and monthly history
  • Alerts for upcoming blood tests and appointments

Can he have broccoli after his drops?

Levothyroxine absorbs best on an empty stomach, and certain foods interfere with it. The nutrition module helps you plan every meal so the treatment works at its best.

  • Food traffic light: compatible, wait 2h, wait 4h
  • Timing guide from the dose to each food
  • Breastfeeding and weaning (Beikost) guides
  • AI plate analyzer: detects interferences in real time. In development

Lab results In development

What does a TSH of 4.2 actually mean?

We're building the lab results module: it will explain TSH and free T4 values in the context of pediatric monitoring. What's normal for your child's age, what changes if the dose changes, what to ask at the next appointment. No diagnosis. Just context.

This feature isn't available yet. The image shows a design concept.

For 12-month-olds on treatment, the reference range is 0.5–4.0 mIU/L. This value falls within the expected range. [PENDING: verify source]

So grandparents understand too.

We're developing the module to share the essential information with every caregiver. Material designed for people without medical training: what CH is, how the medication is taken, and what to do if there's a doubt.

  • Printable caregiver card with the key instructions
  • Plain-language guides for grandparents and other caregivers
  • Read-only access for trusted caregivers

How the app works

Built for the daily routine.

01

Your child's profile

Name, medication, prescribed dose, and reference doctor. The app adapts to each child's treatment schedule.

02

The morning routine

Dose reminder, one-tap logging, and meal planning with the food traffic light.

03

Ready for the appointment

Dose history, noted questions, and educational material. You arrive at the endocrinologist with everything organized.

What we want to change

No family should leave the hospital feeling alone with the diagnosis.

Newborn screening works: it detects congenital hypothyroidism in the first days of life. What's missing is the support that comes after: the years of daily doses, blood tests, and unanswered questions at three in the morning. That's the part we want to transform.

Today

Supporting the daily routine

Dosing, nutrition, and education for families with pediatric congenital hypothyroidism, in three languages from day one.

Tomorrow

Closing the care loop

Lab results explained, a caregiver network, and travel tools. Collaboration with pediatric endocrinology units.

Beyond

Beyond CH

Bringing the same model of support to other chronic conditions detected through newborn screening.
